This guide explains how to use Templates from Doczilla.co (“Doczilla”) correctly. It summarises the key do’s and don’ts in plain English. For full details, always refer to the Doczilla Templates License and the User Terms. If there’s any inconsistency, the License and User Terms prevail.
- Templates = the professional documents you download from Doczilla (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Google Docs formats).
- End Product = your finished deliverable that uses a Template (e.g., a client report, a policy pack, a board deck, a financial model customised for a client).
- Project Registration = recording which project/end use a Template is tied to (as required by the License).
2.1 Active subscription required
- You must have an active Doczilla subscription to download Templates and to start any new use of a Template.
- If your subscription lapses, you cannot begin new projects with Templates or re-download files. (See 2.6 on End Product continuity.)
2.2 Single use per project (register each use)
- Each Template is licensed for one project/end use at a time.
- Want to use the same Template again in a different project? Register it again for that new project.
2.3 Customise or incorporate—no “as-is” redistribution
- Templates must be materially customised or incorporated into a larger End Product that reflects your skill and effort.
- You may not redistribute, re-upload, or share a Template as a standalone file (even if modified only superficially).
2.4 Public display, reproduction, and communication are allowed (in End Products)
- You may publicly display, distribute, reproduce, communicate, or broadcast your End Product that incorporates a Template, provided the Template is not extractable as a standalone file.
2.5 Client transfer (limited sublicense)
- You may transfer the End Product to your client (this includes a limited, project-bound sublicense to use the Template as part of that End Product).
- Conditions:
- Your Doczilla subscription must be active at the point of transfer.
- The Template must not be extractable from the End Product.
- Inform the client of their obligations (e.g., no reuse outside that End Product without their own license/subscription where required).
2.6 Unlimited copies & multi-channel distribution of End Products
- You may create unlimited copies of the End Product (e.g., unlimited prints of a brochure; unlimited PDF shares to stakeholders).
- You may distribute the End Product via any and multiple media (print, email, intranet, secured client portals, slide hosts, etc.).
- Continuity after cancellation: If the End Product was completed while your subscription was active, the license for that End Product continues for its life. You cannot start new uses after cancellation.
3) Additional rules and best practice
3.1 Preview files are for evaluation only
- Do not remove watermarks or protections.
- Do not deploy a preview in production.
3.2 Team seats & sharing
- Single-seat plans are for one named person.
- For multiple users, use a Team/Enterprise plan—each user requires a seat. Accounts/logins must not be shared.
3.3 No library replication or stockpiling
- Do not mass-download Templates “just in case,” scrape the site, or build internal archives intended to substitute for Doczilla.
3.4 Fonts, images, and third-party assets
- Some Templates reference fonts or third-party assets. Where such assets are not embedded or expressly included, you are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate rights/licenses.
3.5 Security & confidentiality
- If a Template contains forms or macros, you are responsible for security scanning and for protecting any personal or confidential data you enter.
3.6 AI/ML usage (prohibited unless expressly permitted)
- You may not use Templates (or substantial parts) to train, fine-tune, or evaluate AI/ML models, except where Doczilla has provided explicit written permission.
3.7 No resale or redistribution of Templates
- You may not sell, give away, or otherwise redistribute Templates or substantially similar derivatives as templates, theme packs, or kits—on Doczilla or elsewhere.
Allowed
- Customising a “New Client Welcome Pack” Template with your firm’s branding, service scope, and pricing and providing it to a client as a PDF and presentation.
- Building a working 3-statement financial model from a Template and delivering the Excel file to a client as part of an engagement (with sheets locked to prevent extracting the base Template).
- Using a compliance checklist Template, adding jurisdiction-specific clauses, and embedding it in your firm’s policy manual for internal use.
Not allowed
- Uploading a Template (even lightly edited) to your own website or share drive for others to download as a template.
- Downloading hundreds of Templates during a free trial or a single month just to build a private library for future use.
- Sharing your single-seat login with colleagues to avoid buying additional seats.
5) Registration reminders (how to stay compliant)
- Register a Template to a real project/end use when you decide to use it.
- Keep simple notes (client/job code, purpose).
- Re-register for each materially separate project or client.
6) Definitions (plain English)
- Template: A professional document/file from Doczilla (Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.).
- End Product: Your finished work that incorporates/customises a Template such that the Template is not extractable as a standalone.
- Project Registration: Associating a Template with a specific project/end use as required by the License.
- Subscriber: A Member with an active paid subscription.
