Standard License

The Doczilla Standard License is relevant to any items that you purchase via Doczilla either from Doczilla as the author but without the item being part of a larger subscription plan (ie purchased as a standalone item, or as part of multiple standalone items, that are not part of a subscription plan) and or if you purchase from another Seller on the Doczilla marketplace. The Doczilla Standard License grants you, the purchaser, a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to make ongoing use of the digital works (items and/or templates) you select and download from Doczilla.

This license governs how you may use these items and/or templates. By downloading or using them, you agree to the following terms:

1. License Scope

  1. You are licensed to use each item or template to create one End Product for yourself or for a single client (a “single application”).
  2. The End Product can be used in connection with your business or client work, including paid services you provide, but the items and/or templates themselves must not be resold, re-licensed, or distributed as standalone commodities.

2. Defining an End Product

An End Product requires an application of skill, effort, or customization, and is defined as follows:

  • For templates: the End Product is a customised and practical implementation of the template.
    • Example: A letter template customised for a specific client’s tax communication.
  • For other digital items: the End Product is a larger, distinct work that incorporates the item alongside other elements.
    • Example: Using parts of a financial policy template inside a full compliance manual created for a client.

In all cases, the End Product must represent a broader professional deliverable, not just redistribution of the original item or template.

3. Permitted Uses

  • ✅ You may create one End Product for yourself or a single client. You may transfer this End Product to your client for any fee.
  • ✅ You may make unlimited copies of the End Product, provided it is not sold as a standalone item (e.g., distributing internally within a company).
  • ✅ You may modify, adapt, or combine Doczilla items and/or templates with other works, provided the resulting End Product complies with this license.
  • ✅ You may use items and/or templates as part of your professional services (e.g., accounting, advisory, HR services), where the value lies in the service, not in the resale of the template itself.

4. Prohibited Uses

  • ❌ You cannot resell, relicense, sub-license, or redistribute Doczilla items and/or templates as standalone files, even if modified.
  • ❌ You cannot repackage items and/or templates into your own tools, platforms, or libraries for onward sale or distribution.
  • ❌ You cannot upload Doczilla items and/or templates (modified or not) to any marketplace, app, or file-sharing service.
  • ❌ You cannot use Doczilla items in “on-demand” or “build-it-yourself” style applications that allow end users to generate their own documents from the templates.
  • ❌ You cannot extract individual components from an item or template (e.g., a clause, icon, or header style) and use it in isolation for resale or redistribution.
  • ❌ You cannot use items and/or templates in logos, trademarks, or service marks.

5. Attribution of Ownership

  • Doczilla and the original contributors retain ownership of all items and/or templates.
  • This license grants you a right to use items and/or templates under the conditions described but does not transfer ownership.

6. Lawful and Ethical Use

  • You may only use Doczilla items and/or templates for lawful purposes.
  • You may not use them in ways that are defamatory, obscene, misleading, infringing, or harmful.
  • Items that reference trademarks, companies, or products of others may only be used for editorial or contextual purposes. Responsibility for clearance rests with you.

7. Termination

  • This license will terminate immediately if you breach its terms.
  • Upon termination, you must cease distributing or using End Products that breach the license and remove Doczilla items and/or templates from your systems.

8. Definitions

End Product: A customised deliverable created with significant skill or effort using Doczilla items and/or templates, larger in scope than the original item.
Free: Distribution of an End Product without any fee, subscription, or charge.
Sell or Sold: To sell, license, sub-license, or distribute for any fee or charge.
Items and/or Templates: All digital works provided by Doczilla, including templates, documents, guides, and related content.

9. Summary

The Doczilla Standard License ensures that you may freely use templates and items in your services and deliverables, but you may not commoditise, resell, or redistribute the templates themselves. Doczilla is designed to support professionals in creating value through services, not to allow the resale of Doczilla’s templates as standalone products.

  • Ownership stays with Doczilla: you’re licensed to use templates, not own or resell them.

  • No commoditisation: you can’t resell templates on their own — only as part of a broader deliverable.
